RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, build, and operate GenAI/ traditional AI/ analytics tools, services and workflows that deliver high value through the solution to key business problems (Eg: Facilitate the transition from traditional reporting methods to self-serve analytics powered by AI)
- Be responsible for the development of key components of a scalable analytics platform supporting GSK stakeholders along with their collaborators
- Build connections with commercial leadership teams and others across the organization to influence outcomes, enable team success and foster long-term partnerships that are critical to organizational success.
- Promote shared consciousness and information flow: Acting as a key enabler to ensure the right stakeholders are included at the right time and equipped with the right information for decision making.
- Partner with Infra and DevOps team where modifications to underlying tools (e.g. infrastructure as code, Cloud Ops, DevOps, logging / alerting) are needed to serve new use-cases, and to ensure operations are planned
- Consult stakeholders on application scalability to petabytes of data by having a deep understanding of software engineering, algorithms, and underlying hardware infrastructure and their impact on performance.
- Produce well-engineered software, including appropriate automated test suites, technical documentation, and operational strategy
- Ensure consistent application of platform abstractions to ensure quality and consistency with respect to logging and lineage
- Be fully versed in coding best practices and ways of working, and participates in code reviews and partnering to improve the team’s standards
- Provide leadership to team members to help others get the job done right.
- Manage complex, multi-quarter, cross-functional projects
- Be a standard bearer for data science and software engineering best practices within the organization
- Develop plans to meet requirements, organize a team capable of executing the plans, and lead and track delivery.

Qualifications & Skills:
We are looking for professionals with the required skills to achieve our goals:
- Graduate studies in Computer Science or Applied Math, undergraduate studies in Computer Science and relevant graduate studies in the life sciences with a focus on AI/ML techniques, or undergraduate studies in Computer Science and equivalent work history.
- 16+ years’ experience of professional software development practices: code standards, code review, version control, CI/CD, testing, documentation, Agile, with the ability to mentor others in these practices
- 8+ years’ experience in a technical lead or engineering manager role with direct reports
- Expertise in Generative AI tools/frameworks (e.g. AI Agentic frameworks) and their integration into production systems.
- Have a deep theoretical and practical understanding of AI, related mathematics, programming paradigms, data operations and implement adoption
- Ability to research emerging AI/ML trends, rapidly develop proof-of-concepts (PoCs) & drive innovation.
- Strong foundation in Machine Learning (supervised/unsupervised learning, NLP, neural networks) and Data Science concepts (statistics, data modeling).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Experience with programming best practices (OOP, version control, CI/CD) and distributed systems
- Advanced Python programming skills and a track record of delivering robust software solutions
- Proficiency with standard deep learning algorithms and model architectures, including sequence or graph based methods
- In depth knowledge in machine learning best practices, scalable training and deployment
