Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Analytics & Monitoring
- Collect, clean, and analyze real-time and historical plant data (via Aspen IP.21, PI, or DCS historians).
- Perform trend analysis, root cause investigations, and data reconciliation.
- Develop dashboards and KPIs for APC performance, model quality, and economic benefits using tools like PowerBI or Seeq.
2. APC & DMCplus Support
- Collaborate with control engineers and APC specialists to monitor Aspen DMCplus controller performance.
- Evaluate and tune model predictive controllers to align with process changes.
- Assist in controller commissioning, validation, and long-term maintenance.
3. Rotating Equipment Monitoring
- Analyze operating data from pumps, compressors, and turbines, integrating vibration, temperature, and flow data.
- Correlate equipment behavior with control actions and process dynamics to recommend performance improvements or preventive maintenance.
4. ESP (Electrical Submersible Pumps)
- Monitor real-time ESP data for anomalies, downtime events, and performance degradation.
- Integrate ESP analytics into the APC framework, supporting decisions for load allocation, energy savings, and equipment protection.
5. Process Simulation & Digital Twins
- Use Aspen HYSYS / Aspen Plus for steady-state and dynamic simulations to benchmark real plant data.
- Support the creation of digital twins and surrogate models for process optimization and operator training.
- Compare simulated vs actual data to assess model fidelity and suggest calibration.
Work Experience
- Bachelor's/Master’s in Chemical Engineering, Instrumentation, or Data Science.
- 8 years experience in process industry (refining, chemicals, upstream) with exposure to Advanced Process Control.
- Strong proficiency with AspenTech tools: Aspen DMCplus, Aspen Watch, Aspen IQ, Aspen HYSYS/Plus.
- Familiarity with real-time data historians (Aspen IP.21, OSIsoft PI).
- Basic scripting/data analytics skills (Python, R, SQL, MATLAB) a plus.
- Experience with Power BI, Seeq, Spotfire, or similar visualization tools.
- Knowledge of rotating equipment and ESP systems is highly desirable.
