Responsibilities
- You will oversee your team’s data acquisition efforts, ensuring they know how to use data collection and analysis technologies. You’ll also optimize data analysis delivery and efficiency within and across teams.
- You will develop new predictive and prescriptive models with the goal of producing viable solutions, and oversee data and statistical analyses across multiple teams. You’ll also hold teams accountable for thoroughly reviewing data analysis and modeling techniques, and identify opportunities to reuse evaluation models.
- You will give performance and quality feedback on technologies and products developed by Product Engineering, and provide coaching across internal teams to define and execute strategy. You’ll also create the required infrastructure to troubleshoot and identify appropriate solutions, while ensuring the team can execute professional-level coding and debugging.
- You will champion innovative principles that affect Microsoft’s long-term business goals, while looking for opportunities across multiple customers and developing novel designs for future products. You’ll also establish and implement a customer-oriented focus within the team and organization.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
- OR Master's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 7+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 10+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
- OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years people-management experience.
- 10+ years customer-facing, project-delivery experience, professional services, and/or consulting experience.
- 5+ years of working on data analytics, statistical modelling and handling big data, SQL Scripting and experience in PowerBI
- Solid customer focus and passion for doing the right thing for the customer.
- Proven ability to establish trusted, effective relationships across diverse sets of stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills and cross group collaboration.
- Ability to keep pace with rapid innovations in the field and to be creative to solve problems with no past techniques.
- Experience in developing / working with highly scalable classifiers, ranking algorithms, SLMs, LLMs, Finetuning with RLHF, etc. will be a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree with Computer Science with Data Science focus, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field AND 5+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
- OR Bachelor’s degree with Computer Science with Data Science focus, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field AND 8+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)
