    Job description & requirements

    Core Responsibilities:

    As part of the data science team, this individual will work with various stakeholders to structure, assign, and monitor data science work across a team of data science experts.


    Technical Leadership Expectations:

    1. Demonstrate high learning agility in understanding the impact model and personalization initiatives
    2. Efficiently delegate work across their data science team
    3. Partner effectively with a cross functional team, including data engineering, data analytics, and machine learning operations
    4. Prioritize new development work and ongoing maintenance based on business value, estimated effort, and individual skills and/or development goals
    5. Implement a standardized framework for communication, project management and execution
    6. Build, deliver and own a quality management framework to increase deliverable quality


    People Leadership Expectations:

    1. Directly manage a team of data scientists
    2. Triage day-to-day issues for team members as their first point of contact
    3. Create and implement upskilling plans for LCCI team members
    4. Serve as trusted career advisor, and work with Functional Leadership and HR to identify career opportunities for these team members, both systemically (career path development) and with individuals as needed
    5. Develop a pipeline of analytics talent and leadership, and contribute to an inclusive community of analytics expert practitioners


    Required Skills and Expertise:

    1. Quantitative background in engineering, statistics, mathematics, econometrics, operations research, or computer science
    2. Minimum of 5 years relevant leadership experience
    3. Demonstrated ability to work with both technical and business-oriented stakeholders to drive high quality outcomes
    4. Strong analytical skills coupled with business acumen, and an ability to think strategically in an ambiguous environment
    5. Extensive program/project management experience
    6. Proficiency in R/Python and SQL
    7. Deep experience with statistical & machine learning models for regression, classification, and optimization


    Preferred Skills:

    1. Hands-on experience building models using statistical and machine learning techniques
    2. Experience with pharmaceutical datasets as well as other digital data for Healthcare / Retail / BFSI / Digital native companies
    3. Familiarity with cloud technology and AWS services for analytics
