Job description & requirements

Job Description:

This role is for a Business Intelligence (BI) Development Engineer to be part of Data Foundation and Insights (DFI) organization in IT to work on data and analytics solutions to support Revenue and Sales and Marketing business group.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Understanding the business requirements, working with Agile scrum team in developing and delivering world-class data and analytics solutions.
  2. Leverages business knowledge and interacts with customers to develop, deploy and maintain business intelligence (BI) interfaces including query tools, data visualization and interactive dashboards and data modeling tools.
  3. Develops and implements processes to transform structured and unstructured data into data warehouses, data marts, and data solutions such as data cubes and data sets.
  4. Builds and evaluates data warehouse designs and components, performs complex data analysis to identify the system and process issues, and develops appropriate solutions.
  5. Enables solutions considering the key factors like security, scalability, manageability, usability, and other factors that contribute to complete solutions.
  6. Uses the warehouse data to generate financial and market intelligence reports to aid in business decision making and performance monitoring.
  7. Works with Data Warehouse Developers, Data Engineers and Data Architects to create Business Intelligence visualizations.



Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.


Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in the field of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or any related discipline with relevant industry experience.
  2. Years of experience: 6+ years of relevant experience in data and analytics software development.
  3. Hands-on experience in end-to-end implementation of SSAS cubes in data warehousing projects.
  4. Experience in industry leading BI tools, data warehousing concepts and methodologies.
  5. Proficiency in designing OLAP cubes, including creating dimensions, hierarchies, and measures.
  6. Ability to write and optimize MDX queries for data retrieval.
  7. Working experience in Microsoft BI stack: SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Power BI and DAX.
  8. Experience in integrating SSAS cubes with tools like Power BI and Excel for reporting purposes.
  9. Excellent knowledge of SQL and database management.
  10. Well versed in the latest development methodologies like Agile, Scrum, DevOps and CI/CD practices.
  11. Experience in leading a team of developers.


Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Flexible to work as a full stack BI developer implementing both backend data foundation and frontend reporting/ analytics.
  2. Converting data to stories using advanced visualization techniques to help with data-driven decision making and management reporting.
  3. Knowledge/experience working in the Revenue and sales and marketing data domain.
  4. Technical certifications in data and analytics discipline.
