Job Profile : Head of Data Science - India

Location: Bangalore


Schneider AI HUB is a global organization led by the Chief AI Officer, with a mandate to spearhead 

the AI-driven digital transformation of Schneider Electric.

We are seeking a passionate and accomplished Data Science enthusiast to lead our data science and 

AI engineering teams. The Head of Data Science - India is a leadership position within the AI HUB 

department, responsible for building, growing, maturing, and sustaining all data science capabilities 

in India. This role involves creating new data science capabilities and proactively working with 

product management and various lines of business across Schneider Electric to provide advanced 

analytics and data science support. The Head of Data Science - India will closely collaborate with 

similar roles in the US and France to ensure alignment and collaboration across geographically 

distributed teams.


Responsibilities

o Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing team of machine learning and data science researchers.

o Oversee all activities of the data science and AI engineering teams, ensuring alignment with 

departmental and business-wide vision and strategies.

o Mentor key data science positions, guiding them in their duties and encouraging their 

professional growth.

o Innovation: Drive industry-leading performance by leveraging new and creative data sources 

and employing the latest machine learning techniques.

o Infuse environment that enables collaboration between the data science team and product 

management, business, technology, AI engineering, and data teams.

o Be accountable for all research, POC, and development activities of the team.

o Work with business teams to monitor outcomes and refine/improve machine learning 

models.

o Conduct quick POCs and idea evaluations.

o Apply a range of statistical modeling techniques, including supervised, unsupervised, and 

deep learning, to solve various problems.

o Evaluate new tools and technologies to ensure the team remains at the forefront of 

analytics.

o Write white papers to evangelize ideas and drive adoption within the broader enterprise.

o Research and Publication: Publish research papers in international journals and file patents 

for intellectual property.

o Conferences: Present at leading conferences to showcase expertise and solutions

Qualifications


Requirements and Essential Skills

General

Education: Master’s degree in computer science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, or a 

related field.
