LCCI Tech Team is actively looking for a motivated leader for Enterprise Data Organization who will promote the optimal extraction of data and improve data infrastructure and operations aligned with organizational goals, while fostering operational excellence, compliance, and collaboration across teams and stakeholders. Senior leader and strategic business partner in driving data and analytics services to fuel business driven insights enabling a competitive advantage. Manages an enterprise-wide data function such as Enterprise Data Strategy, Governance, Data Delivery and common data architecture.

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Director LCCI Tech@Lilly, this role will be a critical thought leader in shaping Tech@Lilly’s strategy in Data engineering. This leader will lead a successful data Delivery organization and will partner very closely with other business functions and delivery teams across Lilly. Extensive collaboration with global teams is required to ensure seamless integration and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the end-to-end software development lifecycle of enterprise-scaled solutions. This role demands the ability to drive and deliver against key organizational critical initiatives, foster a collaborative environment, and deliver high-quality.

Position Description

How you will succeed:

  • Build and manage a team of Highly talented and experienced data engineers.
  • Design and execute enterprise data engineering vision and road map.
  • Build Robust Data Architectures and Pipelines and bring in new techniques for seamless data ingestion and consumption.
  • Accelerate Data Delivery, expand central capabilities to speed data ingestion and engineer reusable data products.
  • Aggressively reduce friction by making recommended governance and policy changes.
  • Collaborate with different product teams and ensure right datasets are available to derive insights for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with other business functions to drive strategies based on the roadmap and work towards building a data engineering center of excellence.
  • Stay current with emerging trends in data platform technologies and continuously evaluate the organization’s tech stack.
  • Champion automation, machine learning, and other advanced data management approaches to drive efficiencies.
  • Engage with key stakeholders across the organization to align on priorities and ensure business needs are met
  • Handle the budgeting of resources and involve in business planning.
  • Manage team performance evaluations, training, and development.
  • Implement robust security protocols and data governance frameworks ensuring data quality, compliance, and security needs are met.
  • Capture and share best-practices across all business units and geographies.
  • Proactively identify and determine cases of Proof of Concept/Proof of Value and set the direction and approach to achieve.

Qualifications / Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent in Information Technology or related field
  • 12+ years of experience with proven expertise in Data Engineering.
  • Experience in implementing large volume and scalable solutions.
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Data products is essential.
  • Understanding of ways of working in the Enterprise Data team.
  • Hands-on technologist with expertise in SQL, ETL/ELT, databases, Bigdata, MDM and Data Modeling.
  • Strong Programming background.
  • Ability to influence change at all levels up to and including AVP (M4) and IO (M5) level.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build professional networks with diverse groups of individuals and to work effectively within geographically dispersed teams and partners.
  • Experience with portfolio management and formal project management methodologies, agile frameworks (including Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.) and solid understanding of associated practices and tools.
  • A high level of intellectual curiosity, external perspective, strong learning agility and innovation interest.
  • Operating with a product first mindset.
  • Experience in managing large-scale projects and teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, critical thinking, collaboration and decision-making skills.

Additional Skills/Preferences

  • Deep understanding of privacy regulations about Information technology and security.
  • Position requires up to 10% Travel.
  • Position located in Hyderabad, India working in a hybrid model.
